Amazing Grace soap bars topped with rose petals

About

A small kitchen. A long table. A lot of patience.

Corks & Bubbles started in 2014, in a kitchen in the Niagara Region, with a stubborn belief that a bar of soap could be more than a thing you grab without thinking.

Sharon Corcoran is the maker. She pours each loaf by hand, lets it cure on a wooden rack for weeks, then cuts it into bars one at a time. She uses phthalate-free fragrance, plant oils, and the kind of patience that does not show up in a brochure.

Love n' Care is not a tagline she put on a sign and forgot. It is the thing she says when people ask why she still does it the slow way, when the fast way would be easier and the cheap way would be cheaper.

When it comes to soapmaking, I never wonder why. I do this in honour of my mother, Ada Elizabeth Ryan. A promise I made to her, and ultimately kept.
